Full-time Public Works Technician/Utilities Operator

The City of Battle Lake is accepting applications for a Public Works Technician/Utilities Operator.  Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; valid Minnesota driver's license; must attain Class D water and Class D wastewater licenses within two years of employment; along with certification to work with a municipal natural gas utility.  Prior experience in public works and equipment operations preferred including water, sewer, streets, etc.  Mechanical, landscaping, and computer experience are desirable qualifications for this position.   

This full-time position is eligible for benefits including health and dental insurance and retirement.  The City of Battle Lake has a 10-Step Pay Plan with the 2026 pay range of $25.02 to $32.64. The successful applicant will be placed on the appropriate step DOQ.  There is a requirement to be on-call (paid) every three weeks and within a 30-minute response time.   Applicants must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening prior to employment.  The successful applicant is subject to random drug/alcohol screenings.
