BATTLE LAKE AREA FIRE AND RESCUE
The Rescue Squad and the Fire Department are under the umbrella of an association called the Battle Lake Area Fire and Rescue Association (BLAFRA). This entity is comprised of the City of Battle Lake and four area townships and is run by a board of directors that has representation from each of the entities.
The Battle Lake Rescue Squad is made up of area volunteers who provide a much-used service in our community. Their service area extends well beyond city limits and many hours are spent on training and maintaining their skill levels. The group consists of approximately 20 individuals trained as First Responder, EMT, Paramedic, or RN and are under the direction of a Medical Doctor. The services of the Battle Lake Rescue Squad can be accessed with a 911 call. Squad members provide medical attention and assistance at the scene however they do not transport patients.
The Rescue Squad is currently housed at the Fire Hall in Battle Lake and is funded by the City of Battle Lake and area Townships as well as donations from various organizations and private individuals. The Battle Lake Fire Department consists of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters who provide a properly trained, safe, efficient, and effective Fire Department for the citizens of Battle Lake and the service area of the Battle Lake Area Fire and Rescue Association. Their mission is to prevent fires through education, to fight fires and to preserve and protect life and propery against injury and damage from fires in the City of Battle Lake and surrounding area (the Battle Lake Fire District).
